How to refer to Mind Body Innovation Centre?

At Mind Body Innovation Centre we understand the importance of providing clear and concise information about how to refer individuals to our services. Whether you are a General Practitioner (GP) or a family member of a potential client, this page is intended to guide you through our referral and intake process.

Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health issues, don’t hesitate to reach out.

The first step towards seeking help is recognising that someone may benefit from our services. If you’re a GP, this could be noticing symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, or other mental health concerns in your patient. As a family member, you might observe changes in behaviour, mood, or social interactions. In either case, professional help may be beneficial.

For General Practitioners

If you are a GP and have identified that a patient might benefit from a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), you can refer them to our services. This involves preparing an MHCP and discussing it with your patient. The plan outlines what kind of help the patient needs, what you will do to help them, and what they can do to help themselves.

Once the MHCP is prepared, you can use our online Referral Form to provide us with the relevant details about your patient and the identified needs. Our online form includes necessary details such as GP and patient information, clinical information, the MHCP information, and the reason for the referral.

For Family Members

If you’re a family member, the first step to referring a loved one to our services is to discuss your concerns with them and suggest that they might benefit from seeing a GP or a mental health professional. If they agree, you can assist them in seeking a referral from a GP who can create a MHCP or refer them directly to our services.

How to Self-Refer

At Mind Body Innovation Centre, we understand that taking the first step towards seeking help can be difficult, and we commend those who choose to start. this process. As such, we offer a self-referral option for individuals who recognise they may benefit from mental health support.

If you feel that you are experiencing symptoms of a mental health concern, you can directly reach out to our team for help. This can be done through our “Contact Us” page or by calling our office during business hours.

Please provide your contact information and a brief description of the issues you’d like to address. A member of our team will respond as soon as possible to discuss the next steps. This typically involves setting up an initial consultation, either in person or virtually, to better understand your needs and to develop a personalised care plan.

The Role of a GP in Self-Referral

Although direct self-referral is an option, we encourage individuals to also involve their GP in their mental health journey. Your GP can provide a valuable medical perspective, monitor your overall health, and if applicable, prepare a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). An MHCP is beneficial because it can provide access to Medicare rebates for our psychological services.

Nevertheless, we understand that every individual’s journey is unique. Whether you choose to involve your GP or to self-refer, our team is here to support you every step of the way. We are dedicated to providing the necessary care and resources you need to enhance your mental well-being.

Remember, acknowledging that you need support is the first, most crucial step towards better mental health. And whether you’re a GP, a family member, or an individual seeking help, we’re here to support and guide you on this journey. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have further questions or need more clarification about the referral process.

Once we receive the referral, we’ll review the information provided and contact the patient to schedule an intake appointment. This initial session will allow us to understand the patient’s needs better and develop a tailored treatment plan.

The intake process is comprehensive, to ensure that we can provide the best possible care. It includes an assessment of the patient’s mental health history, current symptoms, goals for therapy, and any other relevant factors. We also use this time to provide the patient with information about our services, confidentiality policies, and answer any questions they might have.

After the intake process, regular sessions will commence based on the treatment plan. Throughout this process, we maintain open communication with the referring GP, provided we have consent from the patient to do so. We believe in a team approach to mental health care, and we value the collaboration between us and our referring GPs.

We hope this information provides a clear understanding of our referral and intake process. If you have further questions or need more clarification, don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re here to assist and guide you through this process, ensuring that those in need of our services receive the best possible care

Note: Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health issues, don’t hesitate to reach out.
